Growing
premium kava
from the ground up
“Moana Planting Group is built around the belief that a thriving supply chain and a thriving community are the same thing — Pacific land, Pacific people, global markets.”
Moana Group International · Programme Philosophy
Moana Planting Group (MPG) is a greenhouse propagation and community partnership model delivering export-quality noble kava from the Vavau Islands of Tonga to international markets.
The programme tackles a critical gap in the global kava supply chain: consistent, traceable, export-ready stock. Through centrally propagated seedlings of selected noble varieties, we control quality from the earliest stage — dramatically reducing early die-off and ensuring only the strongest plants reach our partner farmers’ fields.
Greenhouse-raised noble kava seedlings with targeted ≤15% mortality rate — vs. far higher losses in open-field conditions.
Partner farmers receive 50–60% of net kava powder revenue — not as contractors, but as genuine commercial partners in the supply chain.
Integrated logistics through Fiji-based processing, producing traceable kava powder for international extract producers and premium buyers.
From seedling
to export
Propagation
Noble kava cuttings raised in controlled greenhouse conditions, achieving ≤15% mortality and producing only the healthiest seedlings for distribution to farmer partners.
Controlled environment
Distribution
Potted seedlings distributed to vetted Vavau farmers with full agricultural training, quality protocols, and on-ground support from our local field team.
Vavau Islands
Cultivation
Farmers steward crops on their own land using MGI standards. Ongoing field supervision, monitoring, and harvest coordination managed on the ground.
Community stewardship
& Export
Harvested roots processed at our Fiji partner facility into export-grade kava powder, then supplied to international extract companies and premium buyers.
International markets
Selected for
export markets
Moana Planting Group focuses exclusively on two noble varieties selected for their premium kavalactone profiles. Only noble varieties — no tudei kava.
Kava Valu
Noble Export Variety
A premium noble variety prized for its high kavalactone content and clean flavour profile. Kava Valu is among the most sought-after varieties by international extract producers globally.

Farmers as
partners,
not labour
Moana Planting Group is structured around genuine economic equity. Participating farmers share directly in the revenue their land and stewardship generates.
MGI supplies all infrastructure: greenhouse propagation, seedlings, training, harvest coordination, logistics, and export management. Farmers contribute land, daily care, and local knowledge.
As production volumes grow, so do farmer returns — creating a self-reinforcing cycle of community benefit and programme growth.
How revenue is shared

| Up to 100 plants | 50% |
| 101–200 plants | 55% |

Pilot to
self-sustaining
scale
A clearly staged growth model — from a DFAT-funded pilot to an investor-backed commercial launch, becoming fully self-sustaining from Year 2 onward without further external capital.
A frontier
agricultural
position
The global kava market is projected to reach $3–8 billion by 2030, driven by the rise of premium kava bars, wellness culture, and growing regulatory acceptance. Moana Planting Group sits at the supply-side foundation of this growth.
We are currently seeking $60,000 AUD in Year 1 capital. Investors gain equity in MGI or the Moana Planting Group (MPG) project SPV, targeting 20%+ ROI. Full financial projections available on request.
Rooted in the Pacific
Kameli Village · Primary Site
The primary cultivation site. Vavau’s elevated terrain, consistent rainfall, and strong kava farming tradition make it the ideal anchor for noble variety cultivation at scale.
Tongatapu · Secondary Greenhouse
A secondary greenhouse site with elevated positioning providing natural climate protection — ensuring supply resilience and geographic diversification for the programme.
Fiji · Export & Logistics Hub
Harvested roots shipped to our Suva-based warehouse and processing partner, milled into export-grade kava powder and dispatched to international buyers.
